Saturday night we smelled something funny coming from the washing machine. The breaker had been tripped several times in the past few weeks. We thought there was a short in the washing machine. Here's what we found. Resistance makes things heat up.

Wow good to hear. Before you do any work on a washer, make sure it's unplugged. Disconnect the grounding wire and the water hoses.

Great! But diagnosis is possible, even for the do-it-yourselfer. It just takes a little patience and a basic understanding of washing machine mechanics.
